Toad Skeleton - Biological Illustration is a fine art print of a biological illustration done of a frog skeleton in technical pen.
This piece is part of a series depicting animal bones native to Idaho --- more specifically Bannock County --- like the Western Toad. Creating biological illustrations has always been deeply engaging to me; it's not just putting pen to paper, it's also an act of learning and investigation. When you draw something naturalistically, you are forced to really look at your subject, and acknowledge every detail you would otherwise overlook. Drawing a system like a skeleton requires you to examine how every piece connects, and often, helps you understand why it works the way it does as well.

Prints sized 5"x7" or smaller are printed on 100% cotton cold pressed fine art paper, while all other sizes are printed on 100% cotton Somerset velvet fine art paper. All prints are archival and are printed & fulfilled by the company Luma Prints. This print comes in four sizes and has a .25" white border around the sides (sizes are approximate).
